Our Farm & Sustainability

Over 40 years of excellence in Nigerian agriculture

A Legacy of Sustainable Farming

At Alawusa Heritage Fish & Farms, our farming isn't just a business — it's a family tradition, built on over 40 years of hands-on agricultural experience and a deep commitment to sustainable food production in Nigeria. From our ponds to our poultry pens, everything we do is guided by our values: Heritage, Quality, Freshness, Sustainability, Trust, Community, and Food Security.

Fish Farming

Fish Farming

Clean, Controlled, and Community-Focused

We raise high-quality Catfish and other fish using well-managed, hygienic pond systems. Our fish are fed with protein-rich, nutrient-balanced feed — and our water management practices ensure freshness, safety, and rapid growth.

Our Practices:

  • Regular water monitoring and oxygen control
  • Natural probiotics to reduce antibiotic use
  • Safe harvesting and unique smoking techniques for signature smoked fish
  • Local job creation through community-based processing and retail

"Our fish are clean, delicious, and proudly Nigerian."

Poultry Farming

Poultry Farming

Healthy Chickens, Fresh Eggs

Our poultry operation includes layers and broilers, producing fresh eggs and chicken meat with care.

Our Practices:

  • Spacious, ventilated deep-litter pens
  • Organic feed supplements and clean water
  • 14+ hours of lighting to support natural laying cycles
  • Strict biosecurity and vaccination protocols

"Every egg we produce is a promise of nutrition, freshness, and quality."

Pig Farming

Pig Farming

Smart Waste Use, Safe Production

Pigs are raised in purpose-built pens that ensure hygiene and animal welfare. Waste is never wasted — it's recycled into compost or even biogas where possible.

Our Practices:

  • Sloped concrete pens with proper drainage
  • Daily cleaning and use of Effective Microorganisms (EM) for odor control
  • Composting manure into organic fertilizer
  • Long-term goal: Biogas system to turn waste into energy

"We turn pig waste into power, not pollution."
